It is the you know it is the it is the listeners it is the rock star family that makes this program go bury you you are a you have to share with us district so that you are in kisses cut title and I just can't get over former quadriplegic right and in you. Your mission is to bring joy I imagined in a serial entrepreneur, several multimillion dollar exits and as a patent holder, and you're living your life is swimming every day. And and you're living your life. It sounds to me like to up end. This this Melotte malaise that we've been in.

Unknown:

Well, that's exactly why I am here, Billy, I have a mission. And thank God the good Lord tapped me on the shoulder. Imagine the following everybody standing up in the morning completely healthy, Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound Billy, and that evening, be in a hospital totally, completely paralyzed from the neck down. And it was not an automobile accident. It was not a spinal injury, a rare disease to go my body and render me completely paralyzed. I was in the hospital 144 days. I was in a hospital bed in my own home for two years. I couldn't turn over by myself. I was in a wheelchair for four years. I had braces on both my legs, my hips to my ankles. And that was progress. Today, thank God and vertical ambulatory, I use a seven foot walking one day made for me by a Zen master. But I still can't walk up the stairs by myself. I can't walk up a curb by myself. But you hear my voice and I have helped by the way. 12 hours a day, seven days a week

Billy Gerard:

you sound fabulous. I want to sound as good as you. You sound absolutely fabulous. Holy. I have to say it's such a great store. I will you know the COVID quarantine, the national news, the press all of what's going on. I have to tell you sometimes it can really take it can put a pounding on your state of mind.

Unknown:

Well, that's exactly why I exist. The good Lord said Barry sure we need your help. Go out there and be a beacon of light and bring hope to the world. HK stands for helping others progress every day. And we do it with a three letter word delete whose middle letter is Oh, and it's not God, although it is because it's the essence of God. The word is Joe

Billy Gerard:

hunt, do you? How do you find joy in the middle of I can't turn myself over on my bed helped me understand that.

Unknown:

Okay, so you can hear my voice. Again. Positive, purposeful, powerful and pleasant. Because I love using words I was taught from a very young age to use words and defined in one of the secrets and the fundamentals of living a positive life is the first is to live life knowing you have a purpose. When you know you have a purpose. You can go mad Billy, that's number two. Mad in this case is a great acronym it stands for make a difference. We love words we like finding the power in them. And the third fundamental of living a positive life is to discover the secrets and the power of everyday words in terms so here's a simple one smile. But smile Billy stands for seeing miracles in life. Every day. She

Billy Gerard:

goes singer, you are listening to Rockstar radio with Billy Gerard. We are on with with get this former quadriplegic and you don't want to hear that. Barry sure he is the ambassador of joy a serial entrepreneur and a a Michael Phelps passionate a swimmer. Holy cow.

Unknown:

Well, look, you know, it's funny you say that wonderful, Billy, I have the passion of MP. I go a little bit slower because remember, I was a quadriplegic I was one of the ways I was able to regain some of my abilities to move is because I have a dear friend who's an Aquatic Therapist, they put me in the water and with a number of what he called therapists to over the course of a couple of years and kept moving my limbs and such I was able to regain my some of my upper body so I'm still paralyzed basically from the waist down, but I was able to move my arms off my head had and I started moving so they put flotation devices on my legs so I wouldn't sink and drown. And I have paddles on my hands because my fingers don't close. I use a snorkel. I actually use a Michael Phelps snorkel by the way I go. And I now swim. Everybody gets it took me years to do this, but I now swim two miles a day. And I've been doing that for over 12 years. So Billy, as of February 8 of this year, 2021, I broke the 8000 mile mark, I write down every half mile, mile, two miles that I do all the time, I've accumulated over 8000 miles in the past dozen years or so. But Billy is swimming from New York, to Morocco, to the Straits of Gibraltar across the Mediterranean, up to Jerusalem and down to Dubai. How do you like that? Well,

Billy Gerard:

yeah, that that issue, you know, early in my career very I have a mentor of mine very early on my career came along. And he shared with me this he said, he wrote it, I remember him writing it on a board so that I could see it. He said, nothing will do more to determine your altitude than your attitude. And I thought Truer words have never been said, and here you are. You're living proof of all of that.

Unknown:

Well, I want to I want to impart two things to everybody listening. If you take anything away from this, we're going to teach you how to say f you to the world and smile. And we're going to learn the six most important words that you could ever internalize, utilize and leverage in your life.

Unknown:

Yes, absolutely. It literally lives in your tummy. But when you put a smile on your face, or like my eight year old D says, Hey, Uncle Gary, can we still smile? smi E L? I said, Okay, why not? And she said I asked her why she says because then it would stand for seeing miracles in everyday life. Believe it still takes me 10 minutes to get out of bed in the morning. But guess what? Jeff Borker:

Let's check out some great cocktails that will spice up your celebration this year. It's Valentine's Day whiskey cocktails on this week's double shatter whiskey Jeff Walker here your executive bourbon steward and whisky ambassador from the classic DRAM and nothing amps up a holiday like a great cocktail and Valentine's Day is no exception if your significant others are whiskey lover, we've got some fantastic ideas for you today using all different types of whiskey. Let's start out with something from Japan called the Black Ship. This drink is made up of one and a half ounces of Japanese whiskey Suntory Toki works great. Then add an ounce of pomegranate juice a quarter ounce of Port Wine a teaspoon of lemon juice mix it all together with ice and a shaker and strain it into a glass A lightened fruity mix. This is perfect starter cocktail for your Valentine celebration from rotten fruity let's go to warm and spicy for our next selection. It's called Apple Pie whiskey cocktail. Now there's a ton of apple pie cocktail recipes out there but I like this one the best as it combines one ounce of cinnamon whiskey with one ounce of ginger liqueur and four ounces of apple cider. This can be served cold or hot your preference for cold simply mix the ingredients in a rocks glass stir and add a block of ice for the warm version. Don't add the ice and put your mix cocktail in the microwave for a couple of seconds. Either way, garnish with a cinnamon stick and serve it up. This is perfect for anyone who might not be a whiskey fan because it's just like apple pie and who doesn't like apple pie. While we're in the dessert mode. Let's look at a double chocolate Manhattan with chocolate in the name this one has to be have Valentine's Day written all over it at one and a half ounces of Ballantine's original chocolate whiskey to one ounce of rye whiskey with a dash of sweet vermouth and a dash of chocolate bitters. Put it in your shaker with ice, shake it up and strain it into your favorite cocktail glass. It's a chocolate lovers dream. I love the entire lineup of balancing chocolate whiskey and they have nationwide distribution so it's very easy to find now beyond their original expression. They also have a Chocolate Cherry cream, chocolate, mint chocolate, mocha cream, and a peanut butter chocolate. All of these can be enjoyed over ice or you can simply mix it one to one with your favorite bourbon arrived to punch up that whiskey flavor. Now enjoy your Valentine's holiday with whiskey this year. And let us know if you try any of the cocktails we've shared with you today. As always, if you'd like to learn more, visit us today at www dot the classic dram.com And check out our podcast the DRAM state available on all podcasting platforms. This is Jeff Walker and remember come for the spirits and stay for the experience cheers all and Happy Valentine's Day

That's where they're keeping us. We are on AI this came to me this past week in AI clips up till I have to share this with the Rockstar, family family. Daniel Johnson is on the Clos. You know, we'll get to why you're here in a moment. But but say hello to the family.

Unknown:

Hello, everybody. Glad to be with thee and I am ready to

Billy Gerard:

you're ready. You're ready. You're ready. You're ready. Alright, so as you know, here's, here's here is a wait, let me just set this up a little differently. My mom when she was in her 80s, I had determined she had shoulder pain, terrible shoulder pain. And she determined to that she wanted an acupuncture treatment to help with that to help manage that pain somewhat, and get her a chance to sleep at night. And so she was able to find an acupuncture person. And according to my mom, at least, it absolutely helped her. And what I what I'm in the reason we've asked you to join us because this is your area of expertise is I now understand Medicare, which my mom was on in her 80s is planning to change how they cover these quote unquote, alternative medicines. So I would love to get your insight on what's going on with Medicare. And what can we expect?

Unknown:

All right, well, according to Medicare, chronic lower back pain, gonna describe as pain that lasts at least 12 weeks, and it's caused by a non identifiable condition or disease. And when it comes to something like your mom was going through with acupuncture is now in response to the opioid crisis. This past year, January 21 2020, CMS, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services actually issued a new rule regarding Medicare coverage for acupuncture, Medicare will now cover 12 acupuncture services sessions per 90 day period, they'll even cover up to 20 in a 12 month period. But now that back pain can be associated with surgery. And when you do get that services, it's going to be covered under Medicare Part B, Medicare has two main parts, part A and Medicare Part B and whenever you use a Plan B service that you're going to have to pay the 20% coinsurance, and you'll have to pay the 20% the Part B deductible and in 2021, that's $203 that you will be responsible for give some limited service like

Billy Gerard:

a Medicare has gotten. So a crazy complicated to my way of thinking. I mean, the idea here is Medicare supposed to be an advantage to all our our aging population. And it's gotten to the point where it's so complicated if you don't have a younger family member or someone in your circle that can help you to navigate this, this the Medicare waters, you'll find yourself deeply confused and maybe even in real trouble.

Unknown:

Absolutely, you know, almost 40% of the adults use some form of non conventional medicine according to the National Centers for Complementary and Integrative Health. So they almost all report that Americans spend about $30.2 billion each year out of their pocket for the services because they are not covered by their insurance. And a recent survey suggests that seniors are more frequent users of complementary alternative medicine. It's referred to an industry a scam than the general population and that's up to 80% of the seniors. Use one of the services

Billy Gerard:

I think listen to anything that equals less white refined sugar and less opioid use. You know, I'm on a rock star wars Instant that we are absolutely, we are fine with Daniel Johnson. Um, he is he is a Medicare subject expert in the idea of changing coverage. You know, we have a new administration now, there'll be a new budget in and uh, my guess is the retirement age is changing and the Medicare is going to change with it. What are the big changes you see ahead, here as annual

Unknown:

was some of the things that I see now that Medicare starting to offer some limited coverage for nutritional therapy for obesity screening, counseling, sleep apnea, sleep studies. And when you look at these different subjects that Medicare is now providing this coverage form, they're looking at the population, the population is working longer, the population is staying out in the market, a little older, they're using the services and Medicare they're counting on to cover them as their insurance provider. It's kind of like edging that way, little, little, little by little and then just increasing what they're actually providing to you. When it comes to these alternative services Medicare. When you look at something like massage therapy, it's still not covered by Medicare, even if it's prescribed by your doctor. But when you look at physical therapy, however, that's still covered by Medicare. Now, on to Medicare Part B, you still pay your 20% coinsurance and your Part B deductible but they are beginning to offer that as a service. Some people have inquired about medical marijuana. Yeah, well, although although about 30 states grant their citizens access to medical marijuana, Medicare still does not cover it at this time because the FDA has not approved Marijuana Medical Cannabis. That's still classified as a Schedule One controlled substance at this time.

Billy Gerard:

Rockstar radio Billy Gerard USA radio networks with Iran with Samuel Johnson. We're talking about what's happening with Medicare and how that is changing. And what's gonna be the system a lot of hap, a lot is happening in the world. And I want Rockstar family, I want you to know about very important that you stay on the cutting edge. Jamie, our listeners want to reach out to you if they want to get some more detail. How do we communicate with you?

Unknown:

Well, I represent a company called insurance. And we are a nationwide brokerage, we offer plans in all 50 states. And they could just call our company directly and speak to one of our licensed and professional agents. There's no fee for our service, we provide guidance, and we actually become your agent. And whenever you reach out to a brokerage, you want to reach out to a brokerage that represent multiple national carriers, not just one carrier. So we're looking at what's in your best interest because we put you in the plan that actually fit your needs. Whether it's a Medicare Advantage plan or a Medicare supplement plan we're here to help you find what will work for you and people have different needs. What works for one person might not work for another person, you could just call our company directly speak to one of our agents directly when you call in to insurance,

insurance that's e n s u r e m insurance and we will link to all in all the usual places the rock star family we will have this link shared before I let you go there any last things you want to leave the Rockstar Fitnation with something really important we should definitely know.

Unknown:

Absolutely. Now currently, there's about 1.4 million American they're living in like in nursing homes. And the average cost of a nursing home is about $40,000 per year. And meanwhile, every day, there is 10,000 members of the baby boomer generation that's turning 65 So if you needing help and you're becoming eligible for Medicare you need to reach out and get that help help is available and we're here to provide that for you.

Billy Gerard:

Wow, good for you. Congratulations. So I asked you to join us because in our calling looking for the latest, most cutting edge, that was interesting stuff to bring to bring the rock star family, I note that our new president, President Biden has recently signed an executive order that has set the stage at for rolling out transgender, a protections, or change the protections Genja, which basically means in in common English, if a boy thinks not, we're talking about schools here, if a boy thinks he's a girl, he can now or will soon be able to say, well, I want to be a girl today and thus compete on the girls team. Is that am I am I if I am I reading this right? Or if I miss something here?

Unknown:

Well, the in essence you have you haven't you haven't characterized correctly, this the latest executive order from the Biden administration, basically states that any any entity, especially educational institutions that accept federal dollars, they have to have this transgender insanity policy in place, which the the, the reality of that policy is exactly what you summarize, and that is that man, boy, boys, teenagers, college males who have gender dysphoria have have a disorder. If they think they are a female, or they desire to be a female. Well, all of a sudden, they get to play in women's sports, which automatically, instantaneously makes the playing field unlevel. So that's the essence of this order. But not only does it make athletics, very unfair, but it also puts puts women in danger because you got sexual predators who would gladly take advantage of this executive order and these policies to enter women's changing areas, women's restrooms, and women's showers and victimize them, which is terrible.

Billy Gerard:

I you know, the whole this is a challenge. I think that we we just we as a people face I II, I don't gender school is not something that I'm personally familiar with. But I can understand that it may be a challenge for someone else in and I want to be sensitive. If this is a challenge for someone, I think we as a nation, owe it to everyone to to attempt to be sensitive in and I think we want to be caring at some level. But at the same time, I do believe there's a modicum of common sense that needs to be applied.

Unknown:

Yeah, no, you're right. And and the thing the thing here is that we actually, we actually created a documentary called in his image, delighting in God's plan for human sexuality, which attempts to reach out to people who are struggling with transgenderism, gender dysphoria, homosexuality and other issues. And in an effort to educate people, and reach out to them and bring them out of that lifestyle so that they can they can live out their life how God designed us, which is male and female. So but what that's not really ultimately what we're talking about here is we're talking about we're talking about abolishing women's sports, we're talking about completely doing away with this idea that we have men's men's sports and women's sports. And it's going to completely blur the line to such an extent that you could have we've seen examples especially in Connecticut, where where girls high school track girl high school basketball, they have six foot three men competing six foot 317 year old boys have already been through puberty competing against against five foot five girls well you know I'm pletely completely unfair

Billy Gerard:

this is the challenge for me i Rock Star Nation knows Father of of three women early young ladies, two of whom are still in high school and they play high school basketball and we are obviously very close with both the girls basketball team and the boys basketball team and there is just no way I mean the best girls on our on our girls basketball team could not have a chance would not have a chance against the worst boys on the boys basketball team. There has to be some level of common sense here or has this just become I you know, just is this become a battle cry.

Unknown:

Yeah, well, the the fundamental flaw problem here is that is it people who are for these policies have a extremely flawed worldview. They have an extremely fault flawed view of of creation, and of an of the role of male and female and they're there. They're on this crusade to blur the lines and act as if there is no difference between male and female, and that people can float back and forth from day to day, depending on how they feel each day. But the reality is that not only the natural scientific reality, but also the reality that we see as Christians is that God uniquely created male and female differently. And they both have their own unique abilities and skills and strengths and weaknesses. And that should be embraced and appreciated and protected. But instead, we have these these, these cultural warriors who are wanting to blur the line, deny reality, deny science, and completely destroy traditional male and female sports and athletics.

Billy Gerard:

You know, athletics are a big part of our big part of my world. I played competitive golf to this day, I play competitive eight ball the under how much athletics that really is. But we certainly work with the kids, we play softball, basketball, soccer, basically, if you and I grew up in a house, my brother was a was a division three athlete, I mean, basically grew up on house if you could, if you kept score we played, it really has impacted my peer group. It's impacted my attitudes, learn to play on a team, learning to win and win gracefully or lose and lose gracefully. competitive athletics, particularly in that, you know, a sixth grade through high school, and maybe even into early college is so formative to anything that would that look and I am sensitive, there may be those that are gender challenged. I mean, that there may you know, not sure unclear. And I think that's getting only harder in with social media, the on the 24 on cycle is only making that more complicated. For many put to put to put at risk, the fundamentals of the use of the appropriate restroom facility, and ultimately, competitive athletics really?

Unknown:

Yeah. Yeah, well, that's the thing. This is not we're taking we're taking one person struggle, which, like you mentioned, is a legitimate struggle for some people we're taking, we're taking a person struggle, and we're nationalizing the struggle, and we're letting the struggle dominate policy. And we don't do that with any other disorder with any other dysphoria with any other mental issue, we don't do that. So the reality is, is that we need to be able to have men's and women's sports, and let them be, there should not be debate. Also, we should not be debating whether men can go in woman's restroom, or whether women should go and

Billy Gerard:

you are, by the way, you are listening to rock star, Billy Gerard, we are on a USA radio network. We are on with Walker wireless, and he is Vice President of Operations and Public Policy Analyst for the American Family Association, we're talking about a recent executive order signed by the president that is really put in jeopardy, some of what I would call what we have come to know is boys and girls, sports in it for the record of the rockstar nation, we are in favor of everyone, we want everyone to have a fair chance. We want everyone to be able to have an opportunity, we want opportunity to abound for all we want and, and whatever your struggles are, and we want you to have an opportunity to face them and meet them and rise to them. And athletics is part of that. And I have to tell you something I to this day. Remember the first team I got cut from? I mean, that hurt. But it was but it's part of that. It's part of the process.

Unknown:

Yeah, yeah, it is. It is part of the process. And we don't need a rigged system. Because some people have struggles and and completely destroyed the traditional way that that women and men and boys and girls compete. And you know, people, people view these these terrible policies that we're talking about. Sometimes they view them from afar, and they go, Oh, that'll never happen in my hometown. That'll never happen to my kids in high school. But the reality is, is this stuff is coming across the country. And if we don't speak up to local school administrators, if we don't speak up to our coaches, to people in authority, then these policies are going to eventually make their way all across the country. And we're going to have a lot of parents who are upset and frustrated when their kids can't get a scholarship because they have people of the opposite sex competing on their teams and against them. And we've already seen it happen in Connecticut. There's ongoing litigation in the federal court system on this topic. So we need states and state legislatures to step up and protect men and women's boys and girls protect their sports. Unless keep things fair.

Yes, Rockstar radio Billy Gerard sitting here in the cockpit and was wrapped by the instrumentation of USA radio networks delivering us to millions of Rockstar fans around the nation. And we are so glad that you have chosen to take a minute with us an exciting weekend last weekend. Got a with the big game. And of course mahomes versus Brady in Wow, what a what a turn. I would say that it was the the crummiest foot of Super Bowl in some time. I'm not not that look, I you know what I'm pleased to see Brady in the Bucs, having one it definitely puts an end to this idea that well, it was all Bella check and you know, and and it puts that to an end although, you know, fair, you know, in all fairness, he did bring over with him Gronkowski and Antonio Brown. And those are both you know, those are like his former teammates. So you could say it was the Patriots light versus but you know, I thought the most interesting part of the game was a Brady getting in a fight with was named runs right out of my head. Now they got a little you know, exchanged a few words on the field that in the end, the halftime show. Did you see the halftime show?

Marie Ruffolo:

You know, that's what I wanted to talk to you about what is the story with the halftime show people were like really like Oh my god.

Billy Gerard:

I don't know that that could possibly have been worse. You know, you got people with jockstraps on their head dancing in circles. I mean, I don't know that it could pop I and I would love to know who would the NFL and who would Pepsi? thought that that was okay. It may be more bizarre than that was most of the halftime show wasn't even on the field. It's unthinkable. A halftime show. It's not on, it's not on the field. In in, in the you know, we sat there I watched part of this with my father and, and family and my father's like, I can't understand a word this guy's saying. And I thought to myself, I said, you know, I think they've done that on purpose. Because you don't want it because you don't want to hear what he's saying. On the weekend. I mean, look, I we work very hard here at Rockstar to keep the show on the cutting edge to and I try not to close my eyes to to any sort of music or any sort of genre of music. But the just the weekend he filled oh my goodness it is not fit for family consumption. He's got one song that is read that that's actually you know, it's it's a nice listen, I like his one song that's made the top 40 But the rest of his stuff is friggin terrible. And now suddenly Pepsi is validated the weekend. Which I guess I guess that's their business and and jockstraps on your head and then songs with lyrics you could really truly never repeat with a straight face and mix company. unbelievable to me. Radio filled your era with yo G Jersey girl. There is so much more stringent don't go anywhere you don't even have to you can just be listening to Rockstar radio with Billy Gerard.
